SMC donates machines for COVID-19 patients

MANILA, Philippines — Business conglomerate San Miguel Corp. (SMC) turned over on Monday noninvasive ventilators to the national task force on the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) for distributions to various hospitals nationwide.

In simple rites in Camp Aguinaldo, 45 adult nasal high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) were turned over by SMC chief Ramon Ang, to NTF COVID chair and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and NTF chief implementer Carlito Galvez Jr.

HFNC machines have been used as part of supplemental oxygen therapy for persons with signs of respiratory distress and has been used in severe or critical COVID-19 cases.
