SAN PEDRO CITY – Three drug suspects were killed in separate encounters with the police in Cavite over the weekend.
In Imus City, Jenel Jimenez reportedly opened fire at police officers following a buy-bust operation at around 1:30a..m. Sunday in Barangay Buhay na Tubig.
Jimenez was hit twice and died on the spot.
In Cavite City, Adonies Mañalac was also killed in a gun battle after another drug sting in Saturday night in Barangay 48A.
Mañalac expired before reaching hospital, the local police said.
Authorities said Mañalac was previously arrested for a drug-related offense.
Over in Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Marc Anthony Diamante, 34, was likewise killed in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Olaes also on Saturday.
The Cavite police said it has recovered an estimated P126,000 worth of shabu from the three operations.
Meanwhile, 46 others were arrested during anti-illegal drugs operations, Cavite police director Col. Marlon Santos said.
