Husband of COVID-19 patient in Quezon tests positive
LUCENA CITY –– The second confirmed case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Catanauan town in Quezon province is the husband of the first recorded virus carrier in the locality, Mayor Ramon Orfanel said on his Facebook page on Friday.
Orfanel said “Confirmed Case #2” is admitted in a Manila hospital, while “Confirmed Case #1,” a 45-year-old woman, has been confined at the Quezon Medical Center in Lucena City since June 2.
“She is doing well,” Orfanel said.
The woman had not traveled to infected places but had contact with a suspected virus carrier, who came from Manila, Orfanel earlier said.
Orfanel did not clarify if the said suspected virus carrier, who caused the transmission, is the husband that later turned out positive of the SARS-CoV2.
To prevent the spread of the virus in the locality, Orfanel placed Barangay Dahican, where the COVID-19 patient resides, under total lockdown until June 7.
