DOTr allows 220 buses to operate in new routes amid GCQ
MANILA, Philippines — Over 200 buses were allowed to operate in newly-established routes to help ferry commuters go to their workplaces amid the general community quarantine (GCQ) now being enforced, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Friday.
In a message to reporters, Transportation Assistant Secretary Goddess Hope Libiran said the 220 bus units will be deployed in the following routes:
Monumento to Balagtas – 116 bus units
EDSA Quezon Ave to Montalban – 30 bus units
Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Loop – 74 bus units
The three bus routes were put in place on Thursday to assist commuters who found themselves stranded and unable to reach their workplaces as public transportation remains limited.
