‘Breaking Bad’ in Tacloban: Senior high school teacher nabbed for P4,200 in meth

TACLOBAN CITY—A senior high school teacher was arrested on Wednesday (June 3) and faced charges for allegedly selling shabu, or crystal meth, at the village of 77 here in a case that brings to mind the hit series “Breaking Bad” about a teacher who turned to illegal drug production.

David Martin Leon, 35, was arrested in a buy-bust past 7 p.m.

Seized from the teacher were sachets of meth worth at least P4,500 and P500 in marked money, according to the Eastern Visayas police.

Leon, a teacher in one of the private schools here, was considered a high-value target by the drug enforcement unit of the Tacloban City police.

Leon was detained at the police jail pending charges against him.
