20 more cops contract COVID-19; PNP cases reach 346
MANILA, Philippines — Twenty more police personnel have contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), raising the total number of cases in the Philippine National Police (PNP) to 346.
As of Wednesday, PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa said the PNP Health Service recorded two more recoveries, bringing the total count of recoveries to 176.

Gamboa said the PNP’s COVID-19 recovery rate us at 50.86 percent after 176 out of 346 police personnel recovered from the respiratory ailment.
“We attribute this high recovery rate to our intensified mass testing among our police personnel including extensive contact tracing and treatment of confirmed cases as well as isolation of suspected cases,” Gamboa said in a statement.
Gamboa, meanwhile, said no new COVID-19 deaths were recorded as the number of deaths stands at four.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, the PNP Health Service has recorded 675 probable COVID-19 cases and 717 suspected cases in the national police force, Gamboa said.
