Cotabato City’s 17th case recovers
COTABATO CITY –– The 26-year old patient earlier tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) here finally tested negative in a repeat COVID-19 test, the Department of Health in the Soccsksargen region reported on Monday.
The region’s 17th patient, who lived in Matalam, Cotabato province, and worked for the city government here, reportedly got the disease in early May, while distributing Social Amelioration Program subsidy to those affected by the lockdown.
On May 20, only days after the man was diagnosed, an 11-year-old girl associated with him also tested positive for COVID-19, making her the 23rd patient in the region, the Cotabato City Health office said.
The man lived in an apartment owned by the girl’s family. Three days later, the girl’s 9-month old brother also tested positive for COVID-19.
Health officials said the boy remained in a stable condition.
To date, the City has 10 confirmed COVID-19 patients. Seven of them have recovered.
