The National Kidney and Transplant Institute was created on Jan. 16, 1981, through Presidential Decree No. 1832. Originally named National Kidney Foundation of the Philippines, it is located at East Avenue, Quezon City, near other government hospitals like Lung Center of the Philippines and Philippine Heart Center.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
