Manila has already enforced hard lockdowns in Tondo’s District 1 and in Sampaloc District following an increase in the number of coronavirus disease cases.

Moreno, likewise, warned businesses that they will face closure if they fail to implement the “no mask, no entry” rule during the GCQ.

“I will close businesses violating this protocol. Maliwanag sa ordinance namin na kailangan magsuot ng face mask sa lahat ng public places. The same rule goes for all businesses,” Domagoso said.

(I will close businesses violating this protocol. It is clear in our ordinance that we need to wear face masks in all public places, the same rule goes for all businesses.)

Moreno was referring to Ordinance No. 8627 which requires Manila residents to wear face masks when in public.

The latest data showed that Manila has recorded 1,357 cases of coronavirus disease including 101 deaths and 397 recoveries.
