BACOLOD CITY –– A nurse, who briefly served as a border frontliner in Bacolod City, tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The 36-year-old female patient from Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City is asymptomatic and has no pre-existing health conditions, said Dr. Grace Tan, spokesperson of the Bacolod Inter-agency Task Force Against COVID-19.

City health personnel took swab specimens from the patient, nine members of her family, and companions and sealed off her residence.

Tan said the patient has no travel history and has been working in the office of her family’s export-import business.

Dr. Ma. Carmela Gensoli, city health officer, said it is unlikely that the patient acquired the COVID-19 while she served as a border frontliner since she did it only for about four days in March.
