Duterte back home in Davao City, says Roque

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte is back in Davao City, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Saturday.

“Yes,” Roque told INQUIRER.net in a text message when asked if the Chief Executive has returned to his home city.

Roque did not give additional details about the President’s trip.

This is the second trip to Davao City that Duterte has made recently.

Two weeks ago, Duterte flew back to his home city on the first day that Metro Manila was placed under a modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) to contain the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Starting June 1, Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Region II, Region III, Region IV-A (Calabarzon) Region VII, Zamboanga City, Davao City, Cebu City, and Mandaue City will be under a general community quarantine.

Meanwhile, areas not mentioned will be under a modified general community quarantine from June 1 to June 15.
