DAVAO CITY—-Two more coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients here, increasing the death toll to 24, health authorities said.
The Department of Health – Davao Region said in its latest bulletin that both patients succumbed to the complications of the viral disease on Tuesday.
One of the fatalities, designated as DR277, was a 58-year-old male from Sasa. He developed symptoms on Sunday, May 24, and was admitted to a COVID-19 facility on Monday.
The other fatality is a 46-year-old female from Barangay 22-C, designated as DR246. She developed symptoms on May 19 and was admitted to a COVID-19 facility on May 21.
Health workers are still investigating when and where both patients contracted the virus.
The villages of Sasa and 22-C are identified by the local government as moderate risk areas.
At present, there are 253 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city.
