LUCENA CITY—Two more patients had beaten COVID-19 In Quezon, bringing to 68 the total number of recoveries in the province.
In a 5 p.m. report, the Quezon public information office (QPIO) said the two recovered patients were both from Lopez town in the province’s fourth district.
Four patients had earlier recovered in the town which was also still keeping watch over five suspected cases of infections. Three of the patients suspected to be carrying SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, are on home quarantine.
The municipal government of Lopez had recorded a total of 37 suspected COVID-19 cases but four of the patients died while 28 had been found cleared of the virus.
As of Wednesday (May 27), Quezon province has recorded 89 COVID-19 cases, with 68 recoveries and eight deaths.
The province remains to have 13 active virus carriers, all confined in a hospital.
The office of village authorities at Ibabang Dupay in Lucena City had been temporarily closed after one of five new COVID-19 patients in the city was found to have had contact with village officials and workers.
The village officials and workers would be tested.
The temporary closure of the village office was announced on Facebook on Wednesday.
