Cotabato mayor offers P300,000 for info on aide’s killers

COTABATO CITY—Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi has offered a reward for information that could lead to the identification, capture and prosecution of the men who shot dead her executive secretary last Monday (May 25).

On her social media post, Guiani-Sayadi said she was offering P300,000 to anyone who could provide information leading to arrest of those who shot dead Aniceto “Boy” Rasalan, her executive secretary.

Rasalan, a former journalist before joining the city government, was having breakfast at a restaurant on Notre Dame Avenue here when two men arrived and shot him in the head at close range past 7 a.m.

Witnesses said the gunmen, wearing face masks, fled on board a motorcycle after the attack.

Police rushed Rosalan to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center where he was declared dead.

Rosalan had survived an attack in 2015 while driving to his office. Police are checking if last Monday’s fatal shooting of Rosalan was related to the attempt on his life in 2015.
