Nueva Ecija drug suspect slain in police operation

LUPAO, Nueva Ecija –– A suspected drug pusher from Cabanatuan City was killed in an 8:30 a.m. drug bust that turned bloody on Tuesday.

An undercover policeman was able to buy a sachet of shabu (crystal meth) from Mar Punzalan, who suddenly drew a handgun and fired at the lawmen in Barangay San Pedro, said Police Captain Ronan James Eblahan, Lupao police chief.

“But he missed,” and was killed when the policemen handling the sting operation fired back, said Eblahan said.
