Outgoing PDEA chief appointed member of Clark Int’l Airport board
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed outgoing Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) director general Aaron Aquino to the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC).
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea initially confirmed Aquino’s appointment as head of the airport facility.
But in a text message to INQUIRER.net, Medialdea clarified that Aquino was appointed as a member of the airport’s Board of Directors on May 22.
“With nomination as President and CEO of CIAC,” Medialdea added.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque likewise confirmed this in a statement.
“We thank Mr. Aquino for his immense contribution to the Administration’s campaign against illegal drugs,” Roque added.

Article continues after this advertisementRoque, in a television interview, said his relief and transfer was not a case of loss of trust and confidence.
Aquino was appointed by the President as PDEA chief in August 2017.
