Based on the latest data of the Department of Health, Metro Manila posted the highest number of new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases among all regions from October to December 2019.
Of the 3,029 new HIV cases reported nationwide during those months, 33 percent or 982 were from the National Capital Region, followed by Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces) with 17 percent or 512 cases.
