TUGUEGARAO CITY— A retired Army soldier was arrested on May 23 for peddling P430,348-worth of suspected shabu, or crystal meth, at Maddarulug village in the Cagayan town of Solana, police said on Monday (May 25).

Ricardo Remegio Jr., 48, was arrested and detained after he handed a plastic bag containing the contraband to a police asset, said Brig. Gen. Angelito Casimiro, Cagayan Valley regional police director.

Two other drug suspects — Ryan Jay Adducul, 26, and Rey Tappa, 28, both of Cataggaman Nuevo village — were arrested in a separate drug bust inside a hotel in Tuguegarao on May 23. They were caught with five sachets of meth.

On the same day in Isabela province, brothers John Steven Solomero, 27, and Steve Solomero Jr., 22, were arrested in a sting operation in Gamu town for peddling 13 sachets of shabu.
