Did You Know: Education sector had 14,006 establishments in 2016

According to the final results of the 2016 Annual Survey of the Philippine Business and Industry recently released by the Philippine Statistics Authority, there were 14,006 establishments in the education sector.

This sector includes education by different institutions in regular school systems a well as adult education and literacy programs. It also includes military schools and academies, prison schools, as well as instruction primarily concerned with sport and recreational activities, and education support activities.

The survey covered only private education. The top three industries in terms of establishments were private general secondary education (22.1 percent), private preprimary/preschool education for children without special needs (22 percent), and private primary/elementary education for children without special needs (20.9 percent).
