Quezon COVID-19 watch: 6 more ‘probable’ patients die

LUCENA CITY – Six more “probable” coronavirus disease 2019  (COVID-19) patients in Quezon have died, the Quezon Public Information Office (QPIO), citing the latest record from the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) revealed Sunday morning.

A total of thirteen “probable” COVID-19 patients have so far expired in the province.

The IPHO did not provide other details on the fatalities.An individual classified as “probable” COVID-19 case if his/her test results are inconclusive, and he/she has been tested in an unofficial laboratory that does the confirmatory testing.

Quezon province has recorded 84 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 66 recoveries and eight deaths. The province has only 10 remaining active virus carriers, all confined in a medical facility.

IPHO records covering the period from April 14 to May 23 shows that there are 46 suspected novel coronavirus carriers confined in different hospitals in Quezon, while 52 others on home quarantine.

One thousand one hundred twenty one individuals are classified as “suspected” carriers.  Twenty eight of them have died without any information whether or not they were tested.
