Canadian found dead inside yacht in Subic

SAN ANTONIO, ZAMBALES –– A Canadian citizen was found dead inside his yacht in Subic town on Friday morning, police said.

Investigators said the body of Warner de Ruiter, 64, a resident of Barangay Asinan Proper, also in Subic, was discovered by his friend, Edgar Alburo, a fisherman.

Alburo said de Ruiter was last seen alive about 9 a.m. Friday, but did not respond to calls an hour later.

Police ruled out foul play and said de Ruiter could have died of a heart attack.
