MANILA, Philippines — A frontal system will bring cloudy skies with a chance of rains over some Northern Luzon provinces, the state weather bureau said Saturday.
In its 4 a.m. live weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the frontal system will bring cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Kalinga, and Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Thunderstorms were seen over the Sulu Sea, Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan, said Pagasa weather specialist Ariel Rojas.
“Ayan po ay mga thunderstorm at nagiging mas madalas na nga ang mga pag-ulan sa dakong hapon at sa gabi ngayong papalapit na ang panahon ng tag-ulan,” Rojas said.
(Those are thunderstorms, meaning rains will often occur during the afternoon or evening now that the rainy season nears.)
The weather specialist also said a weather disturbance will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next three to five days.
