MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police’s (PNP) COVID-19 testing facility has been “technically approved” for operation by the Department of Health (DOH), PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said Friday.
All that is needed now, said Banac, is the license to operate which will come from the DOH.
“Lab is technically approved na. Kulang na lang yung actual License to Operate. (Lab is technically approved. License to Operate is still needed.),” Banac said in a text message when asked if the DOH had already given its approval for the COVID-19 testing laboratory which was set up at the PNP Crime Laboratory.
When asked if there are delays in the accreditation of the COVID-19 testing site, Banac said: “No delay, on schedule naman. Katapos lang ng final evaluation and site inspection.”
(There are no delays. It is on schedule. The final evaluation and site inspection had just finished.)
PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa earlier announced that the COVID-19 testing site was put up at the PNP Crime Laboratory in Camp Crame, Quezon City which will cater to police officers.
