5 female cadets are among topnotchers of graduating PMA Class Masidlawin
BAGUIO CITY –– Five of the topnotchers of the graduating Philippine Military Academy Masidlawin Class, who will march on Friday afternoon, are females, adding to a list of accomplished PMA female alumni.
Cadet First Class Gemalyn Sugui, the 25-year-old daughter of an Echague town farmer and a public school teacher in Isabela province from Echague topped the 196-strong class.
She is joined by Cadets First Class Rojes Gaile Jamandre from Lamut, Ifugao (4th), Vanelyn Angel Tabao of Tabao, Tuguegarao City (7th), June Giel Anne Factor from Piddig, Ilocos Norte (8th), and Dencel Aian Bayaca from Floridablanca, Pampanga.
Sugui, also an economics graduate of the University of the Philippines Baguio, is the sixth woman to graduate as class valedictorian in the academy.
The five others are Arlene dela Cruz (1999), Tara Velasco (2003), Andrelee Mojica (2007), Rovi Mariel Martinez (2017), and Dionne Mae Apolog Umalla of Alilem town, Ilocos Sur province who led the Mabalasik class of 2019.
