Wanted for years, a retired general’s son who had allegedly scammed a lot of people of money through the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, was finally caught by authorities in Parañaque City.
Malvin Tianchon was arrested on Tuesday by Pasay, Parañaque and Southern Police District lawmen based on a warrant issued by a Pasay judge for large-scale estafa.
Tianchon is the son of Brig. Gen. Lauro Tianchon, deputy commander of the Western Command in Palawan province.
According to National Capital Region Police Office chief Police Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas, Tianchon was under surveillance for a month before he was arrested.
The complainant said he was duped into paying P100 million for 1,000 Bitcoins, which have a value of P400 million.
