Days after it allowed tricycles and pedicabs to resume operations under a “color-coding scheme,” the Pasay City government banned e-bikes and e-trikes, saying their drivers violated social distancing and other quarantine protocols.
The Pedicab Operators and Drivers Association (Poda) and the city government, through the Tricycle and Pedicab Franchising and Regulatory Office (TPFRO), said all sidecar, e-trike and e-bike operations would not be allowed until May 31.
Those who operate would be arrested. In an earlier meeting between TPFRO chief Ace Sevilla and Pasay Alliance of Poda president Eliazar Dayrit, they said that there were several drivers who were ignoring quarantine protocols set by the national government. —Jodee A. Agoncillo
