LUCENA CITY—The city wiped its COVID-19 slate clean with the recovery of four patients, according to health authorities on Wednesday (May 20).
In its 5 p.m. report, the Quezon provincial information office (QPIO), said the last four remaining COVID-19 patients in the city had been cured.
The city health office said the four patients were from the villages of Cotta, Kanlurang Mayao, Isabang and Barangay 11.
With all 29 patients now fully recovered, the city is now considered to be coronavirus-free.
The city, however, is still keeping watch over 98 persons suspected of being infected and seven probable carriers.
The province of Quezon has 81 cases as of Wednesday with 58 recoveries and eight deaths.
The province also listed a total of 1,680 suspected virus carriers but 44 of them had already died.
Health authorities recorded over 52 suspected coronavirus carriers who are confined in different hospitals in Quezon while 95 others were still on home quarantine.
At least 1,489 of the suspected carriers were already out of hospitals or finished home quarantine.
