Woman from Occidental Mindoro tests positive for COVID-19
PUERTO PRINCESA CITY –– A woman from Occidental Mindoro has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing to 37 the total number of cases in the Mimaropa region.
The 42-year-old female health care worker from Sablayan town, was the eighth COVID-19 positive patient in the province, according to the Occidental Mindoro’s official Facebook page.
The new case was detected under Occidental Mindoro’s expanded targeted testing conducted on May 13 and 14.
The province’s two active patients remained to be asymptomatic.
In Palawan, two persons suspected for COVID-19 have died, said a report from the Center for Health Development (CHD-Mimaropa). The details, however, were yet to be disclosed by the health authorities.
As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, there were 58 suspected COVID-19 patients in the province, 16 of whom were admitted in different hospitals, while 42 were under strict home quarantine.
