Camarines Norte town has 2nd COVID-19 patient
LEGAZPI CITY –– A second case of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was recorded when a close contact of a patient who died last Friday, tested positive for the virus in Labo town, Camarines Norte.
The Department of Health (DOH) in Bicol reported on Wednesday that the 62-year-old woman tagged as Bicol#68 was a close contact of Bicol#61, who died early Friday after his first negative result.
The woman was asymptomatic but was swabbed on May 12, according to DOH Bicol.
Bicol#61 was a 45-year-old man from Pag-asa village of the said town. He tested positive for COVID-19 on May 11 and tested negative in a second swab four days later. He died due to acute renal injury.
Camarines Norte authorities have yet to announce whether Bicol#68 is also from Pag-asa village or from Tulay na Lupa village, where Bicol#61 was rescued after losing consciousness.
As of this posting, Bicol region has 68 cases of COVID-19.
