Scattered rains, thunderstorms to affect Batanes, Babuyan Islands

MANILA, Philippines — Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday due to a frontal system affecting the extreme northern Luzon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The rest of Luzon will experience hot and humid weather with possibilities of isolated rainshowers in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms, Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza said in a 4 a.m. weather update.

Visayas and Mindanao will likewise have fair weather with possibilities of rainshowers also in the afternoon or evening, said Mendoza.

“Sa loob ng 2 to 3 days, wala po tayong inaasahang sama ng panahon na posibleng makaapekto sa loob ng Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) (In the next 2 to 3 days, we are not expecting a weather disturbance that could affect the weather in PAR),” he said.

No gale warning has been raised by the weather bureau.

“Para naman sa ating mga mangingisda, sa mga gumagamit ng maliliit na sasakyang pandagat, wala po tayong nakataas na gale warning sa kasalukuyan, kaya’t ligtas pa rin silang makakapalaot sa anumang baybaying dagat ng ating bansa,” said Mendoza.

(There is no gale warning raised so fishermen and those with small seacrafts can venture out to the waters in our country.)
