CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela –– The body of a 75-year-old village chief in Angadanan town was found floating off the Cagayan river in Purok 12, Villa Luna village on Monday, police said.

Herman Managuelod, 75, village chief of Rancho Bassit, was recovered by fishermen after two days of searching, said Police Captain Clarence Labasan, Isabela police spokesperson.

Managuelod may have drowned on Saturday when he went fishing despite the swelling rivers due to rains brought by Tropical Storm “Ambo,” according to his nephew, Christopher Rumbaoa.
