MANILA, Philippines — According to the final results of the 2016 Annual Survey of the Philippine Business and Industry recently released by the Philippine Statistics Authority, there were 3,459 establishments in the arts, entertainment and recreation sector.
This sector includes a wide range of activities to meet varied cultural, entertainment and recreational interests of the general public, including live performances, operation of museum sites and sports, gambling and recreational activities.
The top industries in terms of number of establishments were gambling and betting activities (39.1 percent), operation of recreation parks, beaches including renting of facilities such as bathhouses, lockers, chairs (21 percent) and other amusement and recreation activities (16.7 percent).
