Cops net 7 suspects, P8.3M in meth in series of operations in Quezon

LUCENA CITY—Police separately arrested seven suspects and seized some P8.3 million in shabu, or crystal meth, in a series of operations here and the towns of Candelaria and Sariaya, Quezon province on Monday (May 18).

Narcs busted Richilda Macatangay, Jones Macatangay and Kimberly Gonzales after they sold shabu to an undercover police officer in a drug deal in Candelaria town past 6 a.m.

The three suspects yielded some 329 grams of shabu in several plastic sachets and a Honda Civic hatchback believed used in their drug trade.

Earlier, authorities also collared Clio Umali in another sting operation at another village in Candelaria past 4 a.m. Police seized some 10 grams of shabu from Umali.

During interrogation, Umali identified one Michael Anca as his supplier. Anca was arrested in a followup operation past 5 a.m. in Sariaya town. Anca yielded nearly 11 grams of meth.

In Lucena City, policemen arrested Mar Christian Dimaano and Allysaver Peñamora in another buy-bust operaton inside a middle-class subdivision at the village of Kanlurang Mayao past midnight. Agents seized nearly 38 grams of meth from the suspects.

Policemen also an unlicensed .35 caliber pistol and a Toyota sedan from Castillo.

Authorities seized a total of 388.9 grams of shabu from the seven suspects. According to police estimate, the haul is worth P8,330,000 in the street market.
