Ban on alcoholic drinks lifted in Isabela, but drink at home order issued

CAUAYAN CITY — The liquor ban, which has been in force for the two-month Luzon lockdown, has been lifted in Isabela province on Monday (May 18).

Isabela Gov. Rodolfo Albano III, however, said consumption of alcoholic drinks should be at home, appealing to drinkers to “be responsible.”

Mass gatherings in public places and churches are still prohibited, the governor added.

Cauayan City Mayor Bernard Faustino Dy also issued a separate order lifting the ban on alcoholic drinks in the town, but barred drinking sprees that involved 10 or more people.

The sale of alcoholic drinks is permitted only until 5 p.m. daily and store owners violating this rule face fines and revocation of business permits.
