MANILA, Philippines — Some repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), including those who tested positive for the new coronavirus, have left quarantine facilities.
Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson Commodore Armand Balilo said some of the OFWs left the facilities even before their results were released.
He said there were OFWs who ignored the 14-day quarantine protocol.
“ Now they’re probably at home, mingling with their families and their communities,” said Balilo, who did not say how many OFWs actually escaped.
The OFWs face charges for violation of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.
