LEGAZPI CITY — Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal on Sunday ordered the suspension of issuance of travel pass to city residents after the noticeable influx of applicants at the city hall compound.
Rosal said a long queue of residents seeking to be granted a travel pass had been observed at the start of the enforcement of General Community Quarantine (GCQ) guidelines. The travel pass should be granted to private and public workers with assignments outside the city.
He noted that the significant influx of applicants for travel pass would violate the national GCQ guidelines on crowd-gathering and social distancing protocols.
Given priority for the issuance of the travel pass by the City Interagency Task Force (IATF) are those considered as authorized persons outside residence (APOR) which includes city residents working or doing business outside the city.
Rosal said on his Facebook post Sunday afternoon to stand by for future announcements regarding the issuance of travel pass.
Those under the “travel pass for miscellaneous” category would also be suspended unless for emergency and medical purpose.
