1 dead, 1 hurt when house wall crumbles in Quezon due to ‘Ambo’

LUCENA CITY –– A 62-year-old woman was crushed to death, and a farmer sustained a leg injury after the concrete wall of their house collapsed in Catanauan town in Quezon province during the onslaught of Typhoon “Ambo” (international name: Vongfong) Friday.

The Catanauan police said on Saturday that Lourdes Quinto, a resident of Barangay San Vicente Silangan, and Melencio Quinto, 66, were pinned down when the wall of their house fell at 9:30 a.m.

Lourdes died on the spot, while Melencio suffered a serious leg injury.
