BAGUIO CITY –– Thirty-one families were evacuated from landslide-prone areas of the summer capital on Friday (May 15) as a preemptive measure, as Tropical Storm Ambo crosses the country.

The City Risk Reduction Management Office made the recommendation after determining that these households live near areas where “earthmoving activities” took place before the quarantine, said Glen Lardizabal, a local disaster risk reduction officer.

Baguio and Benguet province have been placed under Signal No. 2.
