Alleged rapist of 9-year-old Baguio girl caught in Pangasinan

BAGUIO CITY –– The 72-year-old man accused of raping a 9-year-old girl in 2018 was arrested on Thursday (May 14) in Pangasinan, the Cordillera police said on Friday (May 15).

Pepito Mabitazan was served an arrest warrant for statutory rape at his hideout in Barangay Lilimasan at San Carlos City, after a joint manhunt by the Baguio, Benguet, and Pangasinan police offices.

The Cordillera police said Mabitazan was brought back to the city “for proper documentation, before his turn-over to the issuing court” of Judge Ivan Kim B. Morales of First Judicial Region, Branch 59.
