68 more medical frontliners recover from COVID-19; total of 2,165 infected

MANILA, Philippines — The number of coronavirus-infected healthcare workers rose to 2,165 as the Department of Health (DOH) reported 40 new cases on Friday.

Of the number, 1,393 are considered active.

The total of recovered medical frontliners also increased by 68, bringing the total to 737.

The DOH did not record any new death, the total of which remained at 35.

The total of confirmed cases are broken down as follows:

Nurses – 790

Physicians/Doctors – 652

Nursing Assistants – 133

Medical technologists – 75

Radiologic technologists – 40

Non-medical staff – 219

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that there is a decline in the number of healthcare workers getting afflicted with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In the Philippines, there are so far a total of 11,786 persons infected with the coronavirus, of which 2,337 has recovered while 790 died.
