P6.8M worth of ‘shabu’ seized from slain suspect

SAN PEDRO CITY –– Police and anti-narcotics agents recovered suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) from a man killed in an anti-drug operation in San Juan, Batangas.

A report from the Calabarzon police on Thursday identified the slain suspect as Khalid Hashin Sahali, who was also tagged as a high-value drug target in the region.

According to the report, joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operation was carried out against Sahali around 9 a.m. on Wednesday in Barangay Lipahan.

An undercover agent bought a kilogram of suspected shabu using bundles of counterfeit money.

“The suspect (may have) sensed that the buy-bust money was fake (and) immediately pulled out his firearm and fired,” the regional police report read.

Authorities returned fire and killed the suspect on the spot.

Police said the alleged drugs were kept in separate plastic bags, worth a total of about P6.8 million.

Police also confiscated a machine gun from Sahali.
