MANILA, Philippines — A fire that lasted nearly 16 hours gutted two adjacent warehouses in Taguig City, causing P12 million worth of damage.
According to Fire Officer 3 Maricel Jilhaney of the Taguig City fire station, the blaze started at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday in one of the two warehouses which stored carpets and electronic appliances on Veterans Road in Western Bicutan.
It reached the third alarm around 5:45 p.m. and was declared under control at 4:31 a.m. Wednesday.
But it would be another five hours before the Pasig fire station declared that the blaze had been put out.
Around 21 fire trucks rushed to the scene with one of the volunteer responders suffering a head injury, Jilhaney said.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
