MANILA, Philippines — Limited outdoor exercises are now allowed in areas under modified enhanced community quarantine, Malacañang said Wednesday.
But Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque stressed that masks must be worn and a two-meter distance must be observed when going outside.
“Sa modified ECQ, ay pupuwede po ang limited outdoor exercises. Kasama po ang outdoor walk, paglalakad, jogging, pagkatabo, bisikleta,” Roque said during an online press briefing.
“Pero kinakailangan meron pong safety protocols kagaya ng pagsusuot ng masks at two-meter distancing,” he added.
(Under the modified ECQ, limited outdoor exercises are allowed. Included are outdoor walks, walking, jogging, running, cycling. But safety protocols are required, like wearing of face masks and two-meter distancing.)
In areas under general community quarantine, Roque said limited contact sports like golf and tennis are allowed.
Metro Manila, Laguna, and Cebu City were placed under a modified enhanced community quarantine starting May 16 until May 31.
The government, meanwhile, placed moderate risk areas for coronavirus transmission under general community quarantine (GCQ), where businesses may resume partial operations excluding those that are involved in leisure and entertainment.
