LEGAZPI CITY – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMO) has declared Albay under “preparedness status” as Tropical Depression “Ambo” threatened to hit the province by Thursday.

Governor Al Francis Bichara, said the preemptive disaster measure would be enforced in the entire province after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that the province would be placed under signal number 1 on Wednesday, bringing moderate to heavy rains as it hovers the province.

The PDRRMC has activated the 18 municipal and city DRRMOs, directing them to be on full alert and to closely coordinate with Pagasa and the PDRRMO for weather updates.

Bichara also advised the various local disaster councils to evacuate residents in risky areas from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday morning, with strict adherence to health standard protocol for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
