CAGAYAN DE ORO—At least 113 health workers involved in contact tracing for COVID-19 infections in Northern Mindanao tested negative for SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes the disease which has killed hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.
Adriano Suba-an, regional Department of Health (DOH) director, said the workers from different hospitals had close contact with suspected coronavirus carriers.
“The results were all negatibe,” said Suba-an.
He also said 23 health workers at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) tested negative, too.
The figures brought to 75 the total number of health workers at NMMC who had been given a clean bill of health.
Those who tested negative included 52 doctors and nurses who gave care to a 21-year-old patient who died of COVID-19 last week.
Suba-an said the second test on a health worker from the town of Tudela, Misamis Occidental yielded negative results after the first test turned out to be positive.
