P5.8M shabu confiscated; 4 suspects nabbed in Navotas

MANILA, Philippines — Law enforcers seized P5.8 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) while four suspects were arrested in Navotas on Monday evening, Northern Police District (NPD) said Tuesday.

NPD Director Police Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Ylagan identified the suspects as Ronnel Ereño, 22; Randel Dela Cruz, 24; Sheila Eyana, 31; and, Christopher James Aguilar, 29.

Operatives of Navotas Police Station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency launched the buy-bust operation against the suspects in Barangay Tangos North at 8:20 p.m Monday.

Suspects were apprehended after they sold P2,000 worth of the illegal substance to an undercover policeman of Navotas Station Drug Enforcement Unit.

Seized in the drug bust were marked money worth P2,000, boodle money worth P8,000, a sling bag, eco bag, and 855 grams of shabu worth P5,814,000.

After the anti-drug operation, police probers revealed that Dela Cruz is included in the government’s drug watchlist.

The suspects and evidence are now in the custody of Navotas police station, while policemen are preparing to file of complaints for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against them.
