Top bowlers to vie in Sinulog Open

THE 13TH BOWLINGPLEX Tenpin Association (BTA) Cebu Sinulog Open and the first National Bowling Tour of the BTA Cebu is expected to draw some of the country’s best keglers on Jan. 19 to 22 at the Gaisano Bowlingplex.

The tournament will be sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Congress (PBC). The tournament have three-man team, singles and masters categories.

For the team event, each team will have to play four games in the elimination round. Players for the singles event will be playing six games each and the top 48 masters qualifiers will be competing in a ten-game series.

The defending champion in the masters event is Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (CETBA) former president Tony Ynoc. He will be competing against strong contenders composed of veteran and junior bowlers for this year’s crown.

The winning team will bring home P9,000 while P6,000 goes to the second placers. The third placers will win P3,000.

The singles event champion will walk away with P5,000 while the second placer gets P3,000 and P1,000 goes to the third placer.

For the masters event, the champion wins P50,000 and a trophy while P25,000 goes to the second placer. The third placer wins P10,000.

Special prizes will be given to the top three senior citizen players, top three lady bowlers and the highest single game scorer.  CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
