MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.7 earthquake rocked Quezon province on Saturday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake struck at 7:19 p.m. some 38 kilometers northeast of Jomalig town.
Phivolcs said the temblor was of tectonic origin and had a 5-kilometer depth of focus.
According to Phivolcs, the tremor was also felt in other areas at various intensities:
- Reported Intensity IV – Jomalig, and Patnanungan, Quezon
- Reported Intensity III – Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte
- Instrumental Intensity II – Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte
- Instrumental Intensity I – Mauban, Quezon
No aftershocks or damage were expected, Phivolcs added.
