5 nabbed in Quezon drug stings
LUCENA CITY –– Two suspected drug pushers were arrested in a buy-bust operation, and three others were caught while sniffing “shabu” (crystal meth) in Tayabas City in Quezon province early Saturday.
Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police director, said police nabbed Patrick Neric and Edcel Sumbrero after they sold shabu to a police agent in a drug deal in Barangay Baguio at 3:10 a.m.
In a subsequent operation, police caught Carl Julius Japor, Angelo Leoparte, and Janet Japor as they sniffed shabu inside Janet’s house in the same village.
A total of 6.24 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P42,400 was confiscated from the five suspects.
The suspects were detained at the city police jail and are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
