Frat leader nabbed for drugs

A FRATERNITY leader was arrested for allegedly selling illegal drugs in barangay Pakigne, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.

Michael Gabi Gerasmio was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) inside the man’s house last Wednesday night.

Gerasmio is the leader of the Alpha Kappa Rho Fraternity-Minglanilla Chapter, said the PDEA-7.

Jessie Tabanao, information officer of the PDEA-7, said that during the operation, Gerasmio sold a pack of suspected shabu worth P200 and an ampule of Nubain worth P300.

After the arrest, 22 more ampules of Nubain and nine packs of suspected shabu were seized.

Assorted drug paraphernalia were also seized.

Tabanao said the seized Nubain came from Kamagayan, which will be used for “milkshake,” a concoction of shabu and Nubain.

“One pack of shabu will be mixed in a vial of Nubain where it will be melted before being injected,” Tabanao said in Cebuano.

Gerasmio admitted that he had been into selling of illegal drugs for four months.

He said the proceeds of the illegal drugs will be used to buy medicine for his ailing mother./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
